LAURA ROSSI DIORIO
Laura Rossi-Diorio is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers nd Social Service Workers. She received her Bachelor of Social Work in 1992 and her Master of Social Work in 2018. She has been working in the Social Work field for the past 28 years with people from various backgrounds.
Laura employs an empathetic, non-judgmental and collaborative approach while providing a safe space for clients to tell their story. She engages extremely well with youth, couples and families. She welcomes the LGBTQ+ community. Laura is an ally and works from an anti-oppressive, anti-racism, collaborative approach understanding systemic racism and the issues multi-ethnic peoples face. She seeks to understand each client’s familial culture, individual beliefs practices and struggles.
Laura works with clients around issues of mental health, trauma, loss and grief and utilizes the following approaches that include: strength based, trauma informed, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Further, Laura understands Italian and has partial verbal fluency in Italian. She has a good understanding of European community and immigrant issues. Laura looks forward to working with you.
