Laura Rossi Diorio

 Laura Rossi-Diorio is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has been working in the Social Work field for the past 33 years with people from various backgrounds. Laura uses an empathetic and non-judgmental approach to therapy while providing a safe space for clients to tell their story. She welcomes the LGBTQ+ community, and is an ally. She engages extremely well with youth, couples and families.

Laura works from an anti-oppressive, anti-racism, collaborative lens and she understands systemic racism. She is aware and sensitive to the issues multi-ethnic peoples face, while seeking to understand each client’s familial culture, individual beliefs practices and struggles. Laura specializes in helping clients deal with mental health issues, trauma, loss and grief. She is able to use the following therapy methods: strength based, trauma informed, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Further, Laura understands Italian and has partial verbal fluency in Italian. She has a good understanding of the European community and immigrant issues.
